The Governors’ Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged to take back all leadership roles held by rival political parties.

At the commencement of the forum meeting on Wednesday at Government House, Enugu, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, made the commitment.

He claims that since they are in Enugu to create history and demonstrate their tenacity to the party, this gathering is the most ambitious and one-of-a-kind in the party’s history.

“Today we are here to unify ourselves, discuss issues that affect the party, and various matters within ourselves.

“Our agenda will go through governance across party administrations, discuss inter-party affairs, Congress, and other things we need to do to provide credible alternatives to Nigerians.”

He disclosed that the national working committee and other party organs, together with PDP governors, were present during the meeting.

The governor emphasized that “we will not allow that because we share history and aspirations for Nigerians,” adding that their assessment had revealed that the nation was heading into anarchy.

“It is high time the party reclaimed its leadership position in all the states that are currently being occupied by other parties,” he said.

Mohammed expressed his gratitude to Gov. Peter Mbah for organizing the gathering and looking after them since their arrival on Tuesday.

The governors in attendance, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), were Caleb Mutfwang of the Plateau, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara States, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo.

The other two are Adamawa’s Ahmed Fintiri and Bayelsa’s Douye Diri, who includes the host governor, Peter Mbah of Enugu State. (NAN)
