Canadian R&B star Celine Dion is set to return to the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. She has been announced to earn a huge sum of $2 million, approximately N3 billion.

Celine Dion took a break from Music in 2022 due to a diagnosis of tiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder.

According to reports, the music star, who is now ready to perform on stage on Friday, will be one of the biggest earners after she is billed to perform a song at the opening ceremony.

An insider who spoke at TMZ explained that the music star is currently okay to grace one of the biggest soccer festers in the world; the source explained that the singer was “feeling fine” despite the past struggle with hospital appointments and illnesses.

Celine, who spoke to the media about her struggle with illness, noted, “I have this illness for some unknown reason. The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off, and it’s over. I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself,”

She further spoke about her joy in performing at the Olympics and gracing the event, which is currently kicking off in France on Friday.

I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!” the singer explained.

Celine, who spoke about her illness in an earlier interview, said, “It’s like somebody is strangling you. It’s like somebody is pushing your larynx/pharynx. It was like talking like that, and you cannot go high or lower,”

The singer described the severity of the illness further: “It’s cramping, but it’s like in a position where you cannot unlock them.”
