Following the demise of South Africa’s Lesotho-born multi-platinum-selling artiste Malome Vector in a car crash, his former label mate and friend, Ntate Stunna, has been rumoured to have also been a victim of the unfortunate incident.
This development has been greeted with mixed reactions leading to Ntate Stuna’s management issuing a statement debunking the rumours and declaring him safe.
According to Stuna’s manager, Bereng Matseletsele, who dispelled the rumours amidst a social media space that had already gone agog over the incident which occurred last Wednesday, the singer, signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, was not in the car with Malome when the incident occurred.
Malome Vector and Ntate Stunna were mates at Ambitiouz Entertainment, a South African-based music record label, before Vector, who was discovered and signed in 2020, controversially exited the record label sometime last year.
Following his exit from the label, Vector started his record label, The Whole Time Entertainment and eventually secured a distribution deal with a top global distributor, Ingrooves Africa (Electromode).
In what may thus be described as a response to the lingering rumour that spread like wildfire, Matseletsele, via various social media platforms, issued a statement debunking the rumour and added that the “Stimela” hitmaker was safe and sound.
“To all concerned. This is to confirm that Ntate Stunna was not involved in an accident today. We are aware of unfounded speculation on different social media platforms,” he wrote not too long after Ambitiouz Entertainment also commiserated with the loved ones of the deceased who they once were home to.
In a statement shared on X, the record label wrote, “With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a shining beacon, the Lion of Lesotho’s sun has set. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and industry peers during this time of profound loss. Rest In [Peace] Malome Vector.”
Xclusiveloaded News earlier reported that the ghastly car crash that claimed the life of the superstar singer also claimed the lives of two other musicians who were driving with him to Lesotho for a music video shoot, leaving two others severely injured.
Emerging reports further indicate that amongst the other two victims who lost their lives were the singer’s upcoming artist, Lizwe Wokuqala, and another singer, Puleng Phoofolo, who also passed away on the N8 national road in Kronstad, Free State, where the incident occurred.
In a related development, claims that Wave Ryder, a fellow South African musician, was also a victim of the incident have also been refuted as the singer was confirmed safe.
According to sources, the latest revelations confirming the safety of Stunna and Ryder, which would have served as a significant source of relief, have not entirely relinquished the grief and sorrows of fans as the music community still wallows in the sorrows of mourning the loss of Malome Vector.
Fans, families and loved ones have expressed gratitude while paying tribute to Malome Vector’s legacy.
Malome Vector was initially known as Bokang Moleli. He first came into the limelight after his songs “Dumelang” and “Nobody”, released shortly after he signed a record deal with Ambitiouz Entertainments, became popular in the South African Afro-pop and hip-hop scene.
