The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that a senator currently serving in the 10th Assembly has been identified as the sponsor of the ongoing protest against the country’s persistent bad governance.
The minister made the allegations on Thursday during a press briefing on the hills of the protest in the capital city, a demonstration that has led to the loss of properties and lives.
He explained that the senator had been identified after he delivered food to the protesters using an escort of the security agents attached to him; he further explained that the senator would be invited for questioning in days to come. He noted that the intelligence report from the security agencies has identified the senator.
The minister who raised concerns about the demonstration’s hijacking explained that intelligence from security had revealed that some hoodlums had planned to hijack the process. He advised the protesters to restrain their protests at the MKO Abiola Stadium, according to the court order obtained in the past days.
He noted that he would not allow the incidents of violence that have happened in other parts of the country to repeat itself in the capital city of the country.
On Thursday, the minister noted that the government was ready to dialogue with the protesters during the handing over of the office’s staff to four newly coronated chiefs of Karu, Kwali, Pai, and Yaba.
The minister went on to urge the protesters to remain calm and initatete a dialogue process with the government, he explained that all parties should should maintain peace till the end of the process which will help the maintanice of the peace. The protesters are currently in the street of the federal capital territory with concerns raised over the rate of intimidations by the security agents.
The leaders of the Friday process include VeryDarkMan and human right activities Deji Adeyejwu.
The day two protester have tackled the government insisting that they don’t have rights to show them where to protest in the capital city.
Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan alleged the minister of the FCT have ored the police to bully them using the police and other security agencies, he called the on the president Bola Tinubu to address them as soon as possible.
After the protesters were tear gassed in the berger area of the FCT the protesters assembled at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. the protester stated they will remain resolute with noting that the actions of the police officers will not stop them until the president act on the demands of the people.
