Police arrest two for car parts theft in Lagos

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the arrest of Jefferson Joshua and Donatus Okoro, who have been accused of vandalizing some vehicles after invading the community. Some of the vehicles the suspects are accused of vandalizing include the brain box. 

A police source who spoke anonymously explained that the suspect was accused of committing the crime at about 3 am on the 30th of July 2023, but their arrest was successful on August 8, 2024, after a series of trials by the police. 

The PPRO noted that the suspects were tracked by the police to Ileiwe Junction in Ikotun and Idowu Street in Ajegunle part the state. 

Following the report of the alleged invasion and theft, it was learnt that the suspects were tracked to Ileiwe Junction in Ikotun and Idowu Street in Ajegunle.

While providing information on the alleged crime, the PPRO noted that the two suspects had confessed to the police to committing the crime.

He explained that the police had successfully recovered A red Toyota vehicle with the number plate FKL 260 JJ Lagos, one police beret, and one handcuffed the suspects who are currently in police custody. 

The PPRO also noted that the command has put in place concrete efforts which will lead to the arrest of other members of the group.
