Police arrest fake medical doctor in Bayelsa State

The police in Bayelsa State led by men of Zone 16 have announced the arrest of fake medical doctor Doubara Esamasuode, who has been operating in the state capital without a licence,

The arrest was announced in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn. The PPRO noted that the arrest shows the level of commitment of the police in the state to uphold the rule of law and ensure the safety of the residents.

The statement noted that the suspect was arrested based on credible intelligence, which was passed to the police by the zone’s Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Paul Omata. He was reportedly operating under the St. Maximilian Medical Centre, which is situated at Winners Junction in the Etegwe area of Yenagoa.

The police noted that, during the arrest, they discovered several items such as injection syringes, drugs, hospital equipment, photographs of his fake convocation, hospital folders, and 200 copies of images of an ultrasound report.

During interrogations, the suspect confessed to committing the crime of fake medical practice, illegal medical facility forgery, and impersonation.

Speaking on the arrest, the AIG noted that the protection of lives and properties in the state were his top priorities; he noted that he would not allow any breakdown of law and order in his jurisdiction to the whole country.

He disclosed that the arrest and parade of the suspect shows the active work the police is doing in the state to maintain law and order in the state in every aspects.

The statement further mentioned that the arrest was a clear message to the individuals practising any fork of criminality in the state, which won’t be taken lightly. He confirmed that investigations were ongoing as the suspect would be charged in court once the investigations were concluded.

The public was encouraged to provide the police with credible information, which will further help protect lives and properties in the state.
