Newly crowned Miss universe Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina has outlined the peak reason she deleted her X handle.
Since last week, Chidimma Adetshina has been bound with controversies linking to her race and recent pegeantry triumph.
She withdrew from her spot as Miss universe South Africa contestant after she was accused of fraud and Identity theft. Following the view of the saga she was offered to compete with Nigerians where she triumphed. However, another form of criticism sparked amid how Nigerians paraded that she clinched the title by pity votes. Even though, she stressed that she worked hard for her prize, it couldn’t quench criticism.
Speaking about his deleted X account, she outlined that since deleting the platform, she has been able to protect her peace of mind following the view of toxicity and criticism she experienced on the platform.
“I had to delete it because I felt like it was too much for me. I’m a comment reader so I read each and every comment; that’s the thing. So for me, I could spend 80% of my day reading comments. I’d read the comments and all and it became toxic for me. I use Instagram but I did limit my comment section one time,” Adetshina explained.
The beauty queen also gratified her fans for the support she received.
“Sometimes there are people in the comment section saying, ‘I really like you but I don’t want to put my feelings out there,’ and it’s valid because when people support me, they get dragged. I don’t want people to go through something like that for supporting me,” she said.
Nigerians stormed their social media platforms and reacted massively according to their views.
