South African Singer, Tyla has once more breached a new feat to clinch the Best Afrobeats Award at the MTV VMAs 2024.
The ‘Water’ crooner astonishingly beat Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Tems, Davido, and others to clinch the prize.
She also made history to become the first female African artist and first South African artist to win a VMA.
Admitting to the influence of Afrobeat on the triumph of African music, Tyla revealed that she is blissful to experience the new flow.
She spoke about her genre discarding Afrobeat while also revealing how proud she is to represent South Africa at the highest stage, crediting Amapiano.
In another detailed expression, Tyla cleared that she is not representing Afrobeat but Amapiano and South Africa.
