Multiple Grammy Award-winning Nigerin artist Ayodeji Balogun, proffessionally known as Wizkid, has released his sixth studio album “Morayo” to honour his late mother. The long anticipated album was released early hours of Friday, November 22, through Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records.
The album contains sixten soul-nourishing tracks, featuring a plethora of global super stars such as the American R&B singer Jasmine Sulivan, Nigerian musical doyen, Asake, French/Gabonese singer Anaïs Cardot and French star Tiakola, among others.
The album which title is drawn from the Yoruba language Morayo, which is literally translated as “I See Joy” is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother Jane Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 18, 2023 in London at age 66.
The album also contains one of Wizkid’s masterpice hits singles “Kese (Dance)” and “Piece of My Heart,” which peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and secured No. 7 on World Digital Song Sales.
