The ongoing 2025 Grammy award already underway has foreseen first Afrobeat loss, igniting yet another unpredicted annual music award ceremony.

From the results so far, Nigerian Afrobeat gem, Tems has lost her first 2025 nomination to American R&B maestro, SZA.

The ‘Free mind’ crooner nominated in the category of ‘Best R&B song’ with the song ‘Burning’ lost the plaque to SZA’s hit song ‘Saturn’.

Emerging as one of the heated globally inclined singer in Nigeria, Tems, bagged one of the most vital nomination. However, she wasn’t able to triumph in her category this time.

The highly reformed Nigerian singer bagged three vital nominations comprising Best Global Music Album with the song, Born In The Wild,
Best African Music Performance with the song ‘Love Me JeJe,’ and
Best R&B Song with the song ‘Burning.’

Awaiting further results, Nigerians has swerved to massive reactions, bidding to the view of the ceremony. Meanwhile, Tems is still optimistic about winning a Grammy plaque tonight as she is still overly active in two categories.
