Nigerian controversial singer and songwriter Portable has once again been struck with another buzz of controversy after court denied his bail over his two vital charges.
In recent hours, Portable covered most of the trending vlogs and media, after reports alleged that he was arrested and charged for assaulting his wife and being involved in a car theft.
The wife, identified as Ashabi Simple, provided enough evidence that attracted the Nigerian police, which led to his arrest. Also, he was charged for a car theft involving a 12 million Naira Mercedes-Benz.
As expected, he was tried in the law court, where he was struck with bail denial, leaving him exposed for further listening. The judgment that happened on January 13 in Ogun State left Portable with a toll to consider as the law court denied his bail request and adjourned his case.
Officially, he would be remanded in custody until January 19th, when he will stand out for further hearing.
Portable controversial status has often aligned with his influence as a Nigerian energetic music gem. Perhaps his constant raid with troubles has headlined him among one of the most disturbing Afrobeat stars ever known in Nigeria. He is often linked to scandals every single month, and this time, he is up for a serious one.
There’s no information clarifying what genuinely transpired between him and his partner domestically, but the situation escalated vigorously against him and control. In a video that has gone viral, he was seen crying and begging for bail. However, it was too late as the court stood firm in their decision.
