The Nigerian energy sector may soon experience a significant boost in productivity due to the latest partnership between Shell International and Ardova Plc, who have both reiterated their commitments to the course.

To bring their partnership to live, both companies reportedly made joint efforts to launch the inaugural Power Conference which recently held in Lagos with an aim to foster dialogue around productivity and competitiveness in the industry.

According to information obtained by Xclusiveloaded Media, the Shell Power Conference which also addressed the role of energy solutions in enhancing productivity and driving growth within the Nigerian business landscape tagged its inaugural outing “Powering Nigeria’s Industries – Enhancing Productivity and Competitivenes.”

In a statement, Shell noted that the conference stems from the strategic partnership between Ardova and Shell, underscoring their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy sector and economic development.

The firm also stated that the event played more roles than was initially anticipated, noting that it served as an avenue to unite leaders, policymakers and experts to explore innovative energy solutions for Nigeria’s challenges and opportunities.

In his opening speech, the Group Executive Chairman of Ardova, Abdulwasiu Sowami, emphasised the importance of creating a platform for discourse on energy sector solutions among key stakeholders.

Sowami said, “The conference serves as a nexus for experts and stakeholders to readdress the pressing challenges facing the Nigerian power sector.

“It underscores the critical need for collaborative approaches to drive industrialization for growth and development. Our vision is to promote power as a national aspiration by meticulously designing and recognizing key opportunities to provide adequate results.”

On his part, Ardova’s Managing Director, Moshood Olajide, said, “Ardova is committed to fostering innovation and sustainability. The conference provides an invaluable platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing, essential for driving progress in our industry.

“We are excited to participate in discussions that will shape the future of energy and look forward to the opportunities that arise from this esteemed gathering.”

Also, the Regional Sales Manager for Africa and European markets at Shell International, Samir Mahgoub, said the firm was excited to collaborate with Ardova in its bid to advance sustainable energy solutions across Nigeria and the West African market.

Mahgoub maintained that the partnership provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore innovations to drive the energy transition while noting that Ardova was an authorised distributor of Shell lubricants in Nigeria and, through innovative solutions, sought to improve productivity and enhance competitiveness for businesses in the country.
