Football fans across the United States (US) were on Thursday, left in total disbelief after Minnesota football team lost a home-match to North Carolina football team.
From reactions prevailing on the internet, fans were equally disappointed by what many have described as a poor performance by Minnesota Golden Gophers after the game at Huntington Bank Stadium.
To make things worse, fans have described as “an embarrassing moment,” the display of fireworks by the Minnesota team after the game which ended in favour of their visiting opponent.
According to reports, the Minnesota Gophers had a chance to win in the final seconds, but their kicker’s 47-yard attempt sailed wide right as time expired, leading to a 19-17 loss to North Carolina in a home-match.
In a post on X, a fan wrote: “15-yard penalty and an ejection for fireworks operator at Minnesota.”
Another fan wrote on X: “Celebrate missing the field goal from time to time.”
