The captain of the Nigerian national team, Troost William Ekong has voiced his frustration following the player’s awful encounter at Libya’s airport.

Earlier, Super Eagles players were stranded at a reportedly diverted abandoned airport where they spent over 10 hours without food and provisions.

It escalated to the point where the players expressed their frustration only to sleep at the abandoned airport.

Following reports and speculations, Super Eagles captain Troost Ekong detailed that their flight were diverted from their scheduled landing.

Taking to his Instagram handle to narrate further, he disclosed that they were stranded with no food and no provision for 10 hours. They were also banned from accessing any hotel which they handled professionally.

Troost confirmed that even though they respected the whole situation, the Super Eagles would not play at the enacted condition.

Other reports has confirmed that they are still stocked at the airport as Ekong has officially called on the Nigerian government to intervene dropping the team’s interest to play the match. He also called on FIFA and CAF to discreet their role in the fixed match.

Several sport bodies has reacted to the saga including Victor Osimhen who has called on FIFA to intervene and help Super Eagles who are still stranded in Libya.
