The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that registered voters will commence collecting the permanent voters’ card on Thursday, October 17, 2024, ahead of the preparation for the governorship election to be conducted in November in Ondo State.

The INEC Commissioner disclosed in the published statement that 89,777 new PVCs have been successfully printed and sent to the INEC office in Akure, the state capital.

The statement noted that the released voter cards included those of prospective voters who had applied to the commission for transfer updates or replacements of lost and damaged PVCs. He noted that the delivered PVCs include 58,708 new voters while 31,069 fall under the other categories.

The statement further confirmed that individuals that have failed to receive their cards in the past elections in state will have the opportunity to take theirs with the period at the cemtres.

The statement noted that the commission will not allow the collection of the cards by proxy for any reason.
