Super Eagles sensation, Alex Iwobi has come out to tender a public apology for their loss against Morroco on Sunday.
The Super Eagles lost their spot at the 2025 AFCON after an awful penalty from Chukwueze, and Bruno denied them the chance to advance to the finals. Meanwhile, Nigerians were heavily aggrieved as they highlighted Chukwueze’s miss nonchalant, unserious, and intentional. This attracted heavy criticism over the player to the point that he deactivate his Instagram account.
In response to the wave, Alex Iwobi took to his social media handle and urged Nigerians to embrace the situation and forgive Chukwueze and Bruno for their penalty miss. He added that they are highly devastated about the situation as they were passionate and only wanted to convert their penalties. Adding to his words, he pleaded with Nigerians to forfeit criticizing the players, for they are aware of how disappointing it’s.
He made references to his content creation, assuring his fans that he would try his best to share with them his daily life experiences in the camp.
Nigeria’s journey in the 2025 AFCON was put to an end after experiencing defeat from the host nation. Perhaps their run yielded incredible status as they are still recognised as the highest scoring nation in the tournament.
