Peter Okoye of Psquare, famously known as Mr P has finally responded to his brother’s recent filth leading to their second spilt.
Recall that Paul Okoye known famously by his stage name Rudeboy after what seemed to be a toll of peace, admitted several interviews and publicly called off his relationship with his brother, Mr P.
According to him, Mr P had allegdly reported him to the EFCC for allegdly portraying fraud and money laundering. Adding to his utterances, he claimed to have owned 99% credibility of their songs during the Psquare era while also demeaning his brother’s efforts. He asscerted that he was fortunate to escape detention as he was not found guilty.
The news spread all over the news and social media platforms, swerving fans into curiosity and disappointment.
Weeks after trolls has pressured Mr P over the saga, he took to his social media platforms and narrated his side of the story.
Expressing his view and feelings in a well composed statement, Mr P detailed his disappointment over how Rudeboy had continued to discredit his efforts to his advantage.
Speaking about their bond, the renowned Nigerian singer admitted to have always wanted to maintain their legacy but Paul Okoye demean his qualities in return.
He started off by announcing that he is not in any competition with his brother or neither anyone, however, foreseeing Paul granting countless interview where he discredited his effort in the group they created together haunts him.
He expressed his concern over Paul constant song credibility claims that he wrote 99% of their songs, detailing that he never acknowledged him even though he wrote their successful songs like “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It,” “Temptation,” “Alingo,” “More than a Friend,” “Shekini,” “Say Your Love,” “Gimme Dat,” “Senorita,” and “IGBEdu,”
Stretching his opinion, he revealed that unlike his brother, he has never discredited his name during interviews as he has often refered to them as “Us” and “We”, but in his grand, he selfishly personalises all the credits.
He expressed the dearth of pleasure in the fact that God made them unique, and with bond can only bring forth their best but his brother do not understand, expressing that he turned the most adored group to mockery.
The iconic singer, advanced to recalling and vowed to have often praised his brother’s song writing abilities but he has continued to demean his kind words to his creepy pleasure. In regret and admitting that God’s grace has brought them this far, he opined that fans loves them for their uniquessness and not individual efforts.
Detailing his feelings further, he pressed that his brother may have gone beyond fate as he snubbed the most significant toll of their career and teamed up with their elder brother, Jude to tackle him. He added that Paul had often looked for the opportunities to “marginalize and humiliate him.”
Having been identified by most fans as the mediocre in the group as paraded by his brother, Mr P further expressed his displeasure over Paul credibility claims and handled 100% to him discarding the 1% Paul had implored to his status.
He again expressed that he often resort to blaming himself for not responding to Paul April 2015 tweet claiming to have written and sang all of P-SQUARE’s songs. While also, revealing that he was protecting their legacy.
At the end part of the statement, he questioned politely if their individual state is bigger than Psquare, backing his claim up with proofs that they don’t even sell out arenas again like they use to, while also dominating the game. He stretched his question by quetioning Paul about what he do have gained from constantly portraying him as a mediocre, while also revealing that he had disrespected his family and legacy. Trying hard to indoctrinate fans to hate him and believing that he is jealous of him was also another vital view of his as he finalised his statement.
Boldly, he assured Paul that his fans will never hate him even though he had often tried to push agendas against him. Finalising his utterances, he wished him well and vowed to address the EFCC saga in his next post.
His official statement reads:
“My dear brother Paul, Just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else. However, seeing you grant countless interviews where you constantly discredit my efforts in the group that we both created and built together really speaks volumes. In your recent interviews, you claimed that you wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE songs and discredited me by saying that our song with TI “EjeaJo,” which I wrote, was a failure. You went as far as using the YouTube views to discredit me once again. You never acknowledged the other songs like “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It,” “Temptation,” “Alingo,” “More than a Friend,” “Shekini,” “Say Your Love,” “Gimme Dat,” “Senorita,” “IGBEdu,” and a few others. Were these songs also considered failures as well?”
“Every time I have spoken in interviews about P-SQUARE, I have always used “we” and “us” because I saw us as a team. But whenever you speak, it’s always “I” and “me,” even when I’m standing right beside you. It’s as if I never existed. My brother, neither of us is the most talented artist in the world, but you fail to understand that God gave us this talent and even granted us another chance to excel after our last breakup. Instead, you chose to turn the most awarded and decorated music group in Africa into a laughingstock again.”
“One thing you need to understand clearly is that the fans didn’t fall in love with P-SQUARE because of who sang or danced the most. What made us special was the magic that came from our combined effort – us two! P-SQUARE was a force, and the fans fell in love with P-SQUARE because of our uniqueness and unity. We both have talent, no doubt, and I have often praised you in our interviews for your songwriting ability. I have also praised anyone who has ever written a song for us or even for me as Mr. P. But instead of showing gratitude for my kind words, you seem to find satisfaction in rubbing it in my face, forgetting that it is by God’s grace that we have come this far.”
“Rather than joining forces with me to reclaim our number 1 spot in the music industry, you chose to team up with Jude to claim the number 1 spot in the P-SQUARE group, always looking for opportunities to marginalize and humiliate me.
You are always claiming to be P-SQUARE’s songwriter, composer, producer, singer, backup vocalist, in fact you are everything including P-SQUARE’s video director, band, promoter, manager, even the choreographer. You are the Author and Finisher of P-SQUARE! In fact, I dash you 100% of everything instead of the 99% you claim.
I blame myself for not responding to your tweet claims in April 2015 that you wrote and sang all of P-SQUARE’s songs. I didn’t respond to these false claims for the sake of peace, as advised by family and friends, and now I am paying dearly for it.
So, my brother, let me ask you: Is Rudeboy or Mr P bigger and more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we individually selling out arenas and stadiums like P-SQUARE used to? Are we topping world music charts with our songs as solo artistes?”
“Do we command crowds and entertain massive audiences like P-SQUARE? I often find myself wondering, what do you truly gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me all the time. You have disrespected my wife, disrespected my family, disrespected my talent, disrespected my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was clearly trying to oppress me. Now, it feels like you have taken it even further by trying so hard to turn the fans against me by making them believe I’m jealous of you.
You have been doing everything for the fans to hate me, but guess what? They will never hate me; instead, they will hate us both because we have disappointed and failed them.
I hope you are happy now. I genuinely wish you nothing but the best, bro! As for those who believe these lies and false narratives and come to my page to drop negative comments, I understand because you have been fed the wrong narrative for a long time. Please allow me to focus and do my music in peace. As for the EFCC matter”
“I will address it before the end of today. Stay tuned! Peace✌🏾”
