Redeemed Christain Church of God General Overseer Pastor Adeboye has reacted to his pastor’s claim about tithe, also narrating why Jesus didn’t collect tithe.
In recent trend, Adeboye apologised and revolted his claim that stresses that paying tithe gaurantees heaven. He made series of points to rephrase the claim while also urging the congregants to improve their tithe percentage from 10% to 40% or even 50%.
Even though this sparked massive controversy online, the Clergyman opted to infuse it after making yet another statement about Tithing.
During his recent sermon, Adeboye addressed his cleric who claimed that Jesus never collected tithe as he proclaimed, condemning his master’s claim.
Adeboye who was not pleased apologised on his behalf, and further detailed why Jesus didn’t collect tithe.
He identified Jesus as an evangelist and not a parish pastor like him, which in turn didn’t give him the room to condone tithing. Perhaps, he also added that despite the view of his evangelism, Jesus still found a way to fund his activities.
This he detailed with further claims and explaining the difference between an evangelist and a parish Pastor.
His words:
“One of my pastors went online and preached a sermon on why people should not pay tithes. I watched the sermon, thinking I would learn something profound.”
“Forgive me for saying so, but it was a very shallow sermon. Jesus was not a parish pastor; He was a world evangelist.”
“The Bible in Luke 8:1-3 tells us that certain women, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna, supported His ministry financially,”
Pastor Adeboye has developed an attractive instinct bound with making controversial utterances that has attracted criticism to him.
