Anambra businessman killed after taking ten million naira ransom from family

Sunny Taxman, a popular businessman in Anambra state, has been confirmed killed by some suspected kidnappers after collecting N10m ransom from his family.

According to reports the victim hail from Alor Agu in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, was based in Onitsha, Anambra State, he was abducted by some kidnappers three weeks ago.

A source who spoke with the press explained that the victim was kidnapped in his car by some gunmen who have not been identified.

Another source who spoke about the discovery of the corpse explained that the dead body of the victim was found inside a dry gutter at the boundary of Nkwelle Uke, near RCC in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State; it was explained that the killer was suspected of having dumped him there.

In a video which has circulated on social media in the past hours, the body of the famous businessman was found in the gutter, with passersby taking a closer look at the corpse, expressing surprise and dissatisfaction with the incident.

A family source explained that after the abduction the kidnapper had regusted for the payment of ten million which the family agreed and paid after the victim had spent three week in captivity, the source explained that the family was surprise after losing the businessman.

The source also suspected that the kidnappers might have killed him after he had recognised one of them for fear of getting them exposed to society and the security operatives. It further noted that the victim was taken away when he was on his way for a business function.

The spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, When contacted on Monday about the development, stated that he was aware of the incident as an official report was yet to be sent to the command according to him. He, however, notes that an enquiry will be made on the sad development and communicated with the press.
