Some suspected terrorists have attacked and killed two vigilante officers in Kaduna after bandits attacked farmers in the Tasake community, in the Ungwan Mayana area of Gayam ward, in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

The resident explained that the travellers’ vehicle was forced to stop at about 4:30-5:00 when it arrived at a bridge inside Kwaga village of Gayam ward of Birnin Gwari. According to his explanations, other passengers who used a different vehicle found their way out of the scene by Amina, and her daughter was abducted by the bandits.
The bandit had started their operations at about 11:00 -12:00 noon in a village called Tasake in the Ungwan Mayana area of Gayam ward in the Birnin Gwari LGA before the abduction happened at about 5 pm the same day.
The source noted the vigilante officer had engaged the bandit and killed some of them while numerous of them had run into the bushes with gunshot wounds. He disclosed the bandits had ambushed the vigilantes in the community and killed Yahaya Nasafe and Yakubu Umar with some other farmers in the community.
He called on the military personnel in the state to commence an offensive operation against the terrorists in the state by visiting their hideout. He noted that such an operation would curb the rate of criminal activities in the state at present.
He also called on the National Communication Commission to monitor and disconnect all communications of bandits in the country. He suggested that tracking conversations will help in the easy arrest of all criminals in the country.
Efforts to speak with the police authorities for comments on the incident proved abortive as the Police Public Relations Officer did not respond to calls.
