The Gombe state goevrnement has announced the donation of N50 million naira to the Yobe State government in an effort to help provide relief materials to the Mafa insurgency attack and widespread flooding across the state which all have happened recently.

Making the donation on Saturday, the deputy governor of the state, Mr Manesiah Jatau, who represented the governor Inuwa Yahaya, noted that the recent attack on the Mafa community by a group of insurgents was tragic and uncalled for.

The visit and donation were announced in a statement released by the Director General of Media and Press Affairs to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mamman Mohammed. He noted that the government of Gombe state shares in the sorrow of the people of Yobe state at a difficult moment when the state was experiencing attacks and widespread flooding.

He noted that the flood incident and the attacks which have been terrorising the state have been destroying lives and properties, which is tragic.

The statement noted that the N50 million donated to the people was aimed at assisting the Yobe State Government in the provision of aid to the people who needed it. He explained that the aid would be given to the most affected communities.

While reacting, the governor of the state, Mai Mala Buni, thanked the people for their gift and support to the state. He noted that it was important to watch each other’s back at the time of challenges. He appreciated the government of Gomeb for showing solidarity at a very difficult moment.
