The speaker expressed his concerns in a recent statement by his media aide Musa Krishi, released Tuesday in Abuja. The speaker expressed deep composition with the residents of the community, noting that it was alarming that the residents have been made to pass through such a devastating incident when they are struggling to sustain their livelihood.

The speaker called on the relevant authorities to provide immediate intervention to the residents of the communities, which will be used to relieve their suffering. He further advised residents to remain calm as the government was taking steps to intervene in the situation.

The statement further appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency and the State Emergency Management Agency to respond to the incident and deploy staff to the areas affected for support to sustain lives and properties.

The speaker also advised residents to take advice from authorities seriously in order to save them, adding that they should be proactive and move to a safer place in the state for the time being. He concluded by saying that the government should make coordinated efforts to tackle the issues of flooding in other states of the country.

It was learnt that the rainfall, which lasted for hours in the community, resulted in the destruction of properties worth millions of naira; the authorities have not announced any death in the community as of the time of this report.
