Kaduna police arrest many with aminations in weekend raids

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two people who are specialists in cattle rustling and gunning in the state.

In the operation, which was conducted during the weekend, the police also confirmed that the police stopped another kidnap attempt.

The different success was announced by the Command Public Relations Officer Mansir Hassan. He explained that the operatives in the state arrested Aminu Saleh and Jafar Ibrahim, who are professionals in cattle rustling, from unsuspecting farmers in the Kasuwa Magani area of Kujama of the state.

In another operation that took place on Sunday, the PPRO noted in a statement that the officers who have been relentlessly fighting every criminal activity in the state foiled a kidnap attempt by some criminals. According to him, the people arrested in connection with the crime include Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim. He disclosed that the suspects were demanding the payment of N10m as their ransom before release.

In a related development, Hassan, in a statement issued on Sunday, said operatives also foiled a kidnap attempt and arrested three suspects – Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim – who were demanding a ransom of N10m from their victim.

Two others were also arrested for allegedly supplying dangerous weapons to bandits in the bushes around the state and Zamfara state. The individuals arrested include Dahiru Liman and Sani Abdullahi Makeri.

During the operation, the police confirmed that a locally fabricated AK-47 and five rounds of 9mm live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

The statement further noted the Commissioner of Police, Audu Ali Dabigi, has commended the troops and officers of the state police command for being steadfast in their duties and responsibility of protecting the state from any act of violence. He also urged the residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious attack to the police for prompt action.

He noted that the protection of lives and properties in the state is the duty of the police, assuring that all criminal networks in the state will be disstablesed in order to guarantee safety.
