Notorious Boko Haram terrorist switch allegiance surrenders to the military in Borno State

The military has confirmed that a notorious Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, has denounced his allegiance to the terrorist group and surrendered to the Multinational Joint Task Force currently working in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

It was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by the Information Officer of the MNJTF, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, disclosed that the terrorist has confirmed to the military to be a member of a Boko Haram terrorist who has caused a lot of security breaches in northern Nigeria, the statement also disclosed that he had joined an operation of the Boko Haram/ISWAP operations in the Mongunu–Baga axis of the state.

The statement noted that it was a significant development in the fight against the battle against the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad region. The statement noted that a notorious Boko Haram terrorist named Bochu Abacha surrendered to the military officers working under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

The statement noted that the terrorists were key figures in several deadly operations carried out by the Boko Haram terrorists in the northern part of the country.

The statement also noted that the surrendered terrorists have noted that he has decided to return from the Boko Haram camp because of the intense battle the military had put on the terrorists in the past months. It was also disclosed that the terrorists had left the camp without the knowledge of the leaders of the Boko Haram camp in Mussaram. He had also left with his weapon.
The statement noted that the Items recovered from Bochu include one AK 47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one mobile phone, an Airtel SIM card and the sum of N32,500. He is said to be providing credible information to the military, which will help in military operations. 

The military noted that in another operation by the military, the troops deployed in Gubio, with other operatives who have been deployed carrying out intelligence, successfully attacked Boko Haram terrorists who were carrying out a supply to the terrorists in the state. The terrorist had attacked the terrorist with Toyota vehicles under the cover of darkness.

It was noted that the officer, after an intelligence, had moved into a comfortable position for an ambush at a point where the terrorists were crossing into the state, and the military had engaged the terrorists in a gun battle. It was noted that one of the terrorists was killed while the other reportedly fled with multiple gun injuries into the forest after the military had overpowered them, abandoning a large logistics supply.

It was noted that the items recovered included 3 Toyota vehicles loaded with assorted foodstuffs, other sundry items, and N2,000.
