The Kano State Police Command has announced the rescue of a four-year-old boy who was abducted by some individuals who have been suspected to be kidnappers; in the same vain, the police arrested three persons in connection with the abduction of the teenager.
The rescue and arrest were made public by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, in a statement on Monday night in the state. The PPRO disclosed that the suspects were arrested by the police surveillance team n Saturday in Gwarzo Local Government Area of the state after an intensive search for the suspects.
He noted that on September 7, 2024, led by CSP Kabiru Isah Kangiwa, the Kano State Police Command’s Surveillance Team achieved a breakthrough in the kidnap case, which involved a teenager, Muhammad Nasir Jamilu.
He disclosed that the victim was abducted from Sharada Quarters Kano by the kidnappers and taken to Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State; he noted that the abductors had demanded a ransom payment of N10m, which the family members paid.
The police noted that the family had paid the sum of N300,000 ton the kidnappers with the pledge that another amount would be paid in subsequent time.
The police noted that when the report was received, the police commissioner deployed a team of police officers with the directive that the victim should be rescued unhurt while the kidnappers were arrested with the aid of all technical support.
It was confirmed by the PPRO that the police officers attached to the detective unit of the police arrested three suspects, Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, both Disclosed that they were from from Yakasai Quarters, Kano while the third person Hassan Aliyu, 22, noted that he was from Hotoro Quarters, Kano
The principal suspect, according to the police, Hisbullahi Salisu, who is a cousin to the victim, during interrogation confessed to the crime and explained that he had conspired with the two other suspects to kidnap the victim and take him to their hideout in Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State.
The police disclosed that the victim was rescued unhurt from the kidnappers and taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, for proper medical checks and reunited with the family after the checks.
The statement commended the team of police officers from the surveillance team for their professionalism and swift response, which led to the successful rescue of the victim unhurt.
