The Nigerian Army has confirmed the neutralization of a top Boko Haram Commander named Abu Rijab, with a team of other terrorist fighters in a top offensive operation that took place on Saturday.
The success was made on the official X handle of the Nigerian Army on Sunday. According to the statement, the operation took place at the Bula Daloye, Bama Local Government Area of Borno. The statement noted that during the operation a high number of terroroist also surrendered to the troops during the operation, he noted family members were among the surrederd members.
The statement noted that the scene of the operation was a highly terrorist enclave in the local government.
According to the statement, the troops were able to recover two AK-47 rifles and mobile phones. The senior commander, Abu Rijab. was killed by the troops after an intense effort by the resilient soldiers.
In another operation the troops arrested two individuals who are suspected terrosits in in Konduga Local Government Area with 52 bags of illicit drugs, the statement alleged that the suspects were on their way to supply the drugs to the terrosrists in the forest.
The troop in Taraba arrested the chairman of the Gassol Local Government Area Hunters’ Association, Alhaji Adamu Tanko, who has been alleged of dealing in the illegal sale of an AK47 rifle to the terrorist in the state, the troops before the arrest of the suspect had recovered the AK47 in an earlier operation in Boki Lamba, a border town with Plateau.
In another operation, the troops in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state confirmed the arrest of two suspected criminals in the Rikkos Area. During the operation, the army recovered Fabricated rifles and mobile phones containing images of various calibres of arms and ammunition.
According to the post, The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja appreciated the troops’ efforts to maintain peace and progress in the country. The army chief also appreciated the community members’ supportive efforts and cooperation with the troops by providing credible information.
