UTME 2025: JAMB releases important details on Registration, Exam dates, Mock and Costs

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released all the necessary updates about the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as the registration commences on Monday, February 3rd 2025.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with media executives in Lagos on Sunday, reiterated that the 2025 UTME registration will begin on February 3rd and end on March 5th, 2025.

This follows an earlier announcement made on Friday by the board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who informed the public through a press release about the postponement of the UTME registration date which was earlier scheduled for 31st January but was changed “to allow the board to implement essential adjustments to its registration templates.” and other necessary modalities that needed to be in place.

Following the final resolution made by the board, prospective candidates and other concerned persons are to take cognizance of the following:

  • Sales of Registration PINs will close on March 5th, 2025, while actual registration will end on March 8th, 2025.
  • Candidates wishing to take the mock UTME must register and indicate their interest by February 23rd, 2025.
  • The sale of Direct Entry application documents and e-PIN vending will run from March 10th to April 7th, 2025.

Also, all prospective candidates are urged to download the JAMB CBT software and the JAMB CBT app to get themselves acquainted.

The Mock UTME is scheduled for April 5th, 2025, whereas the main UTME will start on April 25th, 2025, and conclude on May 5th, 2025 respectively.

Age Limit and New Mock-Trial Test for Underage Candidates

Additionally, Jamb also announced that has newly introduced a mock-trial testing examination for underaged candidate who maybe denied admission into the University, Polytechnics and College of Education due to their age bracket, particularly for the candidates below the age of 16.

Jamb has also decided to give waiver for intelligent students who are below 16; the board stated that gifted candidates below 15 years old may still register, but to be eligible for admission, they must score at least 280 marks in the UTME and excel in the Senior Secondary Certificate and Post-UTME exams.

Registration Costs and Categories

According jamb, there are about four varying categories of e-PINs that candidates can obtain base of their interests and purchasing power, they includes:

  1. Mock Only Trial Testing (for underage candidates) – ₦3,500
  2. Direct Entry Application – ₦5,700
  3. UTME Only (without Mock-UTME) – ₦7,200
  4. UTME with Mock-UTME – ₦8,700

The fees for application documents are further broken down as follows:

  • UTME/DE JAMB Application Fee (same as previous year): ₦3,500
  • Reading Text: ₦1,000
  • CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700
  • CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500
  • CBT Mock Service Charge: ₦1,500
  • Bank Charges: ₦500
  • CBT Mock-UTME Centre Charge: ₦1,500

Note: Candidates are required to specify the type of e-PIN they need while purchasing, as there will be no refunds after purchase.
