Eminem’s silence over his mother’s death is no surprise, following the view of his bad record with his mother since the early phase of his career.
Eminem expressed mostly his domestic trauma in his music at the early phase of his career, narrating how his mother’s recklessness ruined him.
In one of his biggest hits, ‘Cleanin’ Out My Closet, ‘ Eminem emphasized hate, furiously accusing his mother of drug abuse and neglect.
Contrary to the hit song, another reference occurred in his 1999 hit song ‘My Name Is, ‘ which attracted the grief of Nelson, who sued her son. They settled for $25k fine, even though, she claimed that it was her lawyer’s idea.
Growing up under the care of an ignorant mother, Eminem battled his pain with prescription and drug abuse. However, he was able to quench his addiction to music. He, however, blamed the situation on his mother in the 2009 song ‘My Mom’.
The toxicity spanned to what seemed to be limitless but slowed down over the years. Eminem had shown remorse to his mother following strict lyrics deployed on her in his hit songs. He apologised via a song in 2013, blaming his action on anger.
His mother would also congratulate him after he was indicted into the Hall of Fame.
Amid Eminem’s silence, fans are curious if the Rapper is remorseful about the loss or is secretly mourning her.
