Israel has stepped up its bombardment on Hamas in Gaza as they mark the first anniversary of the war that claimed scores of lives and rendered an uncountable number of people homeless. According to Palestinian medics, the attack launched in Gaza on Monday claimed not fewer than 52 lives.
The Israeli military revealed that dozens of militants were killed during the attack, and military infrastructures in Jabalia were dismantled. The attack is reported to have more tendencies of continuing in order to stop Hamas from regrouping.
Palestinian medics alleged that the Israeli military launched an attack in the central city of Deir Al-Balah, where there are a million displaced people, and strike tents inside Al-Aqsa Hospital that left 11 people wounded. On the contrary, The Israeli military said it struck at Hamas militants operating from a command centre embedded inside the hospital.
Palestinian citizens on Monday expressed a strong desire to return to their normal lives as they were before the war commenced. Abu Hassan Shaheen said, “Before Oct. 7, one had dreams. As a father, I have six children, and my biggest burden was providing them with homes and getting them married. But after Oct. 7, this came to nothing. After 58 years of work for me, same as my father – all of it went to dust and rocks,”
The two parties have given conditions that would facilitate the end of the war; while Hamas wants the Israeli military to exit Gaza for the war to end, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sworn that the only way the war could end is for Hamas to be totally eradicated.
