Prince William has stated that the past year has been a brutal moment for his father and mother, who were announced to have been battling with cancer.
Prince Williams, while speaking with Sky News, stated that the years have been dreadful and the most difficult year of his life. He spoke after his weeklong tour in Cape Town, South Africa, for the fourth annual Earthshot Prize.
In devastating news in February, King Charles III announced that he was diagnosed with cancer after a procedure was taken for benign prostate enlargement. According to reports, when the procedure was undertaken, a new issue was noted; also, Buckingham Palace confirmed that further testing of the issues confirmed that the king was battling cancer.
The King has since resumed public duties since April after it was confirmed that progress had been made in the treatment of the diagnosis.
In another worrying news, a video released by Kate, the Princess of Wales, in March confirmed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy. She confirmed after a long absence from the public, which led to several speculations. She explained that the diagnosis was confirmed to be cancer after she went through a major abdominal surgery in January.
According to her in September, Kate noted that she had concluded chemotherapy treatment as she was set to return to the light schedule of public engagements through the end of the year.
Despite that confirmation of their being diagnosed with Cancer, none of them has spoken about the kind of cancer that was disturbing the pair, but Buckingham Palace had confirmed that the king was diagnosed with prostate cancer after several speculations by the public.
Kate had been mainly out of the public eye in the months after she announced her diagnosis. Still, state events and other ceremonies that members of the royal family usually attend have not stopped.
He went further to note that he was very proud of his wife despite the difficult period as he eulogised her as being an amazing person and doing well as the biggest support in his activities.
