It has been confirmed that Israel’s emergency services have started the treatment of dozens after a truck rammed into a bus when it was dropping some of the passengers at a stop close to the Glilot military base north of Tel Aviv on Sunday morning.
The spokesperson for Israel’s police force confirmed the incident and disclosed that the incident took place and investigations were still ongoing preliminary findings have shown that the truck collided with passengers as well as the bus.
So individuals who were present during the incident noted that some civilians on the street “shot at the truck driver and neutralized him, the police confirmed.
As the investigations are still ongoing, it remains unclear if the police are currently treating the incident as a suspected terror attack or a traffic accident, but the circumstances that happened with the crash still remain unclear.
Ronit Glazer of Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical services, ezplins that the scene of the incident has been chaotic through a video shared on X. He noted that the respondents have received an emergency call while it was noted that there was a mass casulty near Glilot Junction.
It was disclosed that the MDA had sent emergency care unit ambulances, motorcycles, first responders, paramedics and EMTs to the area where the incident took place.
Ronit Glazer explained that MDA EMTs and Paramedics who were deployed to the area have stated the provision of medical treatment and have been evacuating the persons involved in the incident to some of the hospitals close to where the incident occurred. The figure provided indicates that 35 people were injured, including 6 in serious condition, 5 in moderate condition and 20 in mild condition, while four people have been discovered to be suffering from anxiety.
United Hatzalah, who is a volunteer in emergency services, disclosed that a large number of persons who were walking on the road were involved in the incident. In contrast, so many people were trapped under the truck for more than 30 minutes after the incident happened.
It was noted that Police and emergency services have remained on the scene to maintain law and order.
