The president-elect, Donald Trump, on Thursday announced that he will be appointing his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, who will be named as the new white house chief of staff.
The president-elect, in a statement, announced the move as he noted that Susie Wiles has helped him to achieve one of his greatest wishes over time, which has further turned out to be one of the greatest political victories in the history of America, Trump also noted that Wiles was part of his ambitions in 2016 and 2020.
Speaking on her personality, the president noted that Susie has been a tough, smart, innovative person whose personality has been admired worldwide. He noted that he believes Susie will make efforts to ensure that America becomes great again. Trump also noted that it was a well-deserved honour to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. Trump added that he had no doubt that she would make our country proud.
>Before the announcement, top media organizations around the country hinted that she was considered one of the leading candidates to take the role, as the president expected. A source disclosed that she had major reservations about the role before accepting the president’s appointment. It was disclosed that she had requested to have absolute control of who can visit the president at the Oval Office as people can not access him at will; it was noted that the president had further accepted the reservations.
It was learnt that during Trump’s first term, his chiefs of staff struggled to prevent a roving cast of informal advisers, family members, friends, and other interlopers from getting inside the White House to meet with him. Trump is often influenced on an issue by whoever he speaks to last, a fact well-known within his circle and one that made life difficult for his top aides.
There has been a series of applause for Wiles, who, according to many individuals, ran one of the most sophisticated and disciplined campaigns in the country. It was noted that her effort led to keeping many of the fringe voices in his orbit at Gulf.
It was disclosed that one of the special roles she played during the election was being in charge of the flight manifest for Trump’s private plane; during that time, she was on her feet to ensure that people did not have unrestricted access to the former president when he does not even want to decline access to a huge number of persons. Also, it has been made known that she had on different occasions confronted Trump on keeping so many people far away from himself, though her inability to prevent far-right provocateur Laura Loomer from joining the former president at a debate and a 9/11 memorial service created significant blowback for her boss
According to a source close to the former president, Brooke Rollins, who had it in mind to be considered for the position, had some big names who were fighting for the position too, but she decided to stay down her wish after she learned that her wish would be creating a big political struggle with Wiles as the role was confirmed on Wednesday to be hers after a significant effort during the rallies.
Rlloins spent a significant amount of time during Trump’s first time in office, now runs the America First Policy Institute, and is still expected to have a role in the second Trump administration.
The chief of staff, the second-most-important office in the West Wing, is one of the few remaining jobs in the federal government to have never been held by a woman. Kamala Harris was the first woman to be vice president. Many other senior positions in the government have been held by women, including almost all of the cabinet posts, top judicial seats, and house leadership roles. But no woman has ever assumed the top Pentagon position, nor has one served on the joint chiefs of staff or as the chief justice of the Supreme Court.
Her profile shows that she is the daughter of the late NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall and a seasoned political operative from Florida. She has been one of the longest-serving advisers in Trump’s administration; she was instrumental in his victory in Florida in 2020. Her good qualities led to her appointment as the de facto chief of staff during his post-presidency, and then led his campaign for the entirety of the race
She refused to address the crowd after it was clear that Trump was coasting to victory in the election, But the president, during his speech, credited her for the efforts made to ensure the success of the election; Wiles left co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita to address the crowd.
Her willingness to remain in the background has endeared her to Trump and his partners, several of whom have publicly endorsed her for the job.
