Erik Ten Hag has been sacked by the Manchester United board after an awful start for start for the season.
The former Ajax coach was sacked today following his recent loss to Westham.
This revolves around his awful performances that have plummeted Manchester United to their worst start ever.
Manchester United’s new Co-owner, INEOS, had backed Erik Ten Hag with a contract extension that would last until 2026. However, contrary to the deal and expectations, Erik Ten Hag deployed Manchester United’s most heart-wrenching seasons.
Despite attaining two vital trophies to add to his Manchester United legacy, he was still considered one of the worst managers ever to have graced a spot with the England’s iconic club.
Arriving in the club from Ajax as a multiple-time champion, Ten Hag was rated high; moreover, he was rewarded with a 600 million budget, which he returned for the FA Cup and Carabao Cup trophies in two consecutive seasons. Perhaps the achievement didn’t align with the expectations, as his awful performances consecutively cost him his Job.
In a statement released by Manchester United, the decision made by the Manchester United board was identified as ‘difficult and finally balanced’ by Manchester United’s hierarchy. Meanwhile, Erik Ten hag sacking will cost Manchester United $13.5 million.
Ten Hag believes the decision was struck off his timing; however, the club decided 24 hours after Manchester United’s reckless 2 – 1 loss to struggling Westham.
They believe that his approach is insufficient to comfortably justifying Manchester United sitting on the 14th spot of the EPL table, relating to their awful Europa League run so far.
Manchester United had only won 1 game in their last seven matches, including their European campaign.
He will be replaced by Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who will serve as an interim manager of the club as the board verges to sort the best solution to the pivotal space.
Read Manchester United’s official statement:
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future”.
