Chelsea Football Club has been eliminated in the early phase of the 2024/2025 Carabao Cup after trailing 2-0 to Newcastle.
Despite triumphing over Newcastle in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Chelsea didn’t meet to replicate a positive result.
Emerging to be one of their worst start of the season, Chelsea lost to Newcastle, who was eager for the win.
The beautiful game started with an equal dominance that later slid in the favour of Newcastle, who converted their vital chances.
This was fuelled by an awful defensive error from Badshielle and Disasi, leading to a flare of total dominance.
The first goal came as a gift for Isak, who didn’t struggle to splash the ball at the back of the net after Badshielle’s awful pass to Veiga deflected to his favour.

Disasi would double the lead to a 2-0 tally, netting his own goal space in a contest to defend the ball.
The London side fought for a comeback but couldn’t utilise any chance, thriving in their third-season defeat.
Chelsea’s head coach Enzo Maresca also reflected on the game, outlining that his players couldn’t control the game after conceding two first-half goals. He praised the team’s all-round performance and expressed his disappointment.
A lack of control for 10 first-half minutes was a huge factor in tonight’s defeat, says the boss. #CFC | #CarabaoCup pic.twitter.com/jc06yhkF1v

Chelsea’s hope for a double competitive campaign has slid from their grip as they have lost one of their three major title bout of the 2024/2025 season.
This serves as the first time Chelsea is exiting the Carabao Cup without reaching the quarter finals in four years. Since clinching the title, they have struggled to attain it again, losing three pivotal finals to Liverpool and Manchester City.
