After a dominant performance, Liverpool triumphed over Chelsea again in a 2-1 display at Anfield.
The intense game foresaw Chelsea covering the first 20 minutes with possession, emerging as a threat to the Reds.
However, their chances slid in favour of Liverpool after they failed to convert them.
Attributed to Liverpool’s confidence and composure, Chelsea resorted to conceding a first-half penalty that Mohammed Salah calmly converted.
Nicolas Jackson would pull one back after netting a class of a chance created by Caciedo, running through and scoring the peak goal.
This would be quenched by Jones’s silky tap-in that soared the scoreline to a 2-1 lead after Mohammed Salah pulled through Chelsea’s defence to provide a world-class assist.
The final whistle termed the pride of London dropping three vital points, leaving their title dream to another shamble of consideration.
Speaking about the game Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca praised his team performance while also admitting that he alongside the players are not happy for the loss.
“Our performance was very good. I have been in this stadium many times and it’s not easy. We controlled the game and for the most part we dominated it. But we lost, so we’re not happy.” He said
Speaking about the referee, Maresca updated that he did a great job despite Chelsea fans’ draining comments directed at him.
Chelsea comfortably sits at the 6th postition of the EPL table with 14 point while Liverpool lead the EPL league with 21 points clear.
