Finidi George, a former coach of the Super Eagles, was introduced as the new coach of Rivers United. He agreed to a two-year deal. The event was held in the Port Harcourt secretariat of Rivers United.
The 54-year-old will now assume leadership of the former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions after Stanley Eguma was fired toward the conclusion of the last campaign.
The former Ajax winger, who guided nine-time NPFL champions Enyimba to the 2022–2023 NPFL title, will be looked upon by Rivers United, who placed eighth in the NPFL last season, to get the best out of him.
