The hopes for Nigerian and Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen of joining France Giant PSG is currently low as talks between the French Side and Napoli have reportedly collapsed.
After the exit of Kylian Mbappe to join Spanish and Europan football lords Real Madrid, the French side has shortlisted Osimhen as the possible replacement.
In the past days, Osimhen agent Roberto Calenda has flown to Paris in order to find a possible way of agreeing on a deal for the transfer of the Nigerian, an effort that has not proved successful.
On Monday afternoon, Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis and PSG’s president Nasser Al Khelaifi, along with sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos all participated in a negotiation for the transfer of the Super Eagles point man but, both parties failed to agree on a deal.
In the last deal signed by Osimhen with the Italian Club, Napoli, a €130 million release clause was included, in PSG negotiation, the club has refused to trigger the release clause which is currently the distance between the teams.
In an effort to find a solution for the deal, Napoli had proposed including Kang-In Lee as part of the deal, but PSG objected suggesting the inclusion of Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele which Napoli also rejected.
The differences that exist between the clubs currently are a threat to Osimhen’s future as his spot in the Napolis team is currently threatened by a heavily linked Lukaku who has been a favourite for Antonio Conte in the past.
Before the opening of the current transfer window, Victor Oshimhen was listed as a favourite strike to join a list of top teams in England including Chelsea and Arsenal.
Currently, no English time has proposed a move for the Nigerian which has been linked to the valuation of his release clause. The Nigerian star who missed the last round of World Cup qualifiers with the supper Eagles has since returned to preseason training camp with Napoli as his feature remains uncertain.
