The transfer activities at Chelsea have continued to get heated, with the potential exit of Conor Gallagher to join Atletico Madrid. This deal has been believed to be near completion.
The young midfielder’s exit has potentially opened the door for the arrival of Samu Omorodion Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. It has been reported that the deal for the two strikers is meant to complement each other as the transfer market peaks.
The Blues, currently negotiating with Napoli, are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Samu from Atletico Madrid before completing the deal for the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, whose deal could be a loan with an obligation to buy.
Frustration has continued to grow in Victor Osimhen’s camp. It has been learnt that Napoli has been keen on signing a new striker before allowing the best African player to leave. Chelsea, which showed interest in the striker early on in the window, has not hidden its interest but is currently unwilling to pay the release clause for the Nigerian.
The current situation between the club and the Nigerian representative has made them insist on and push for a permanent exit for the striker.
A recent revelation indicates that the Italian club Napoli have agreed to lower their price for the Nigerian if the deal includes the signature of the Belgian striker Romelo Lukaku, who has been a key target for the team to replace Osimhen, the interest has grown because of the former boss Antonio Conte who has been keen on reuniting with the striker since his appointment at Napoli.
The deal is currently blocked because of a low valuation from Napels; Chelsea has valued the striker at £37m, which is contrary to the rate of Napoi, who thinks the striker should be sold lower; the troubles faced by the Belgian at the club have contributed in his low valuation. Upon his return to the bridge, Lukaku was seen as a striker to take the club to rate 15 goals plus in a season, which caused dissatisfaction from the fanbase.
Chelsea is considering all possibilities of letting the 31-year-old striker leave Stamford Bridge and will be ready to use him in a deal to sign the Nigerian striker, but the valuation still stands in the middle of the decision.
As the activities in the transfer market continue to grow and near a conclusion, Chelsea hopes that the asking price of representative Osimhen will be reduced to make the deal possible.
The controversy around the transfer may linger if the team agrees to lower the price for the Nigerian; in the past weeks, the striker had agreed to personal terms with PSG; they may try to get a deal done if eventually, the team lower the price for the striker. The big advantage within Chelsea camp is the availability of Lukaku to be added to the deal.
For Osimhen to switch to Chelsea, he must be willing to lower his wages, as Chelsea will not break its wage structure to sign the Nigerian.
