It has been confirmed that the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has suffered a shoulder injury. The Injury according to report took place before the Dodgers’ 4-2 win over the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series Saturday.
The Player, according to Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Robert, noted that the injury happened on the left shoulder of the player and was set to undergo further testing to ascertain the severity of the injury. While speaking after the game, the manager said the injury had served as an encouragement to the team.
He applauded the team’s effort and noted that the strength was great and the range of motion was good. He further stated that the teams saw the incident as an encouragement, but it was not the time to speculate about the injury because the scan was not ready. He noted that once their official result was ready, the extent of the injury would be known, but he was optimistic that with the strength and range of motion, it was a positive sign.
It has been explained by Johns Hopkins that a shoulder subluxation occurs when the humerus partially slides in and out of place quickly..
With the Dodgers up 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ohtani attempted to steal second base but was thrown out to end the inning. Ohtani, however, stayed on the ground grimacing in pain and eventually walked off the field with trainers holding his left arm. Roberts said watching Ohtani on the ground in pain was not a favorable condition for the team of staff.
He explained that it has been obvious that when a player of team is down the who team feels the pains and it becomes a concerning situation
In a revelation by the FOX broadcast, it was stated that microphones picked up a conversation between Ohtani and trainers, saying that his left shoulder appears to have popped out of its socket.
This weekend’s playoffs mark Ohtani’s first appearance in the postseason after he missed out in each of his six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
The star player is riding on a series of remarkable accomplishments in recent months, including hitting his 50th homer of the season and stealing his 50th base in the Dodgers’ victory over the Miami Marlins last Thursday. Ohtani went on to rack up his 51st of each stat by the end of the contest.
Despite the setbacks experienced by the player he has been seen as the favourite to go home with the NL MVP award, potentially the first to do so having played exclusively as a designated hitter. It was disclosed that Ohtani has been working diligently to rehabilitate his elbow, even going as far as to throw off a mound in practice last month for the first time since his surgery, sparking rumors and hopes that he might be able to pitch in the playoffs.
Robert while addressing the rummoirs while speaking a day before the game noted that was no possibility of f Ohtani pitching in the playoffs.
They will play their game 3 which is scheduled for Monday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.
While speaking on how Dodgers will handle Ohtani potentially missing games, noted that the team was there there after offering a quick response. He explained that he was expecting him to be there at the game while he will potentially be included in the line up.
