Former Miss South African finalist, Chidimma Adetshina has expressed her bliss after arriving in Nigeria for the first time in 20 years.
Recall that South Africans portrayed a xenophobic influence on Chidimma, forcing her to withdraw from her spot as a Miss South Africa finalist; this she did to save her family from threats. As the saga swerved heated, Nigerians came to her aid, offering her a spot to contest for the 2024 Miss universe Nigeria.
Amid excitement, she visited Nigeria and without hesitation confessed her love for the nation she described as her father’s land.
Her words:
“I’m just really excited that I’m in my father’s land and I wanna get to experience more about it, it’s been 20 years since I’ve been here, so I just wanna get to know more about Nigeria’s culture and where I really come from.”
Chidimma also outlined her determination to win the Miss Universe Nigeria crown, highlighting her goal to use the contest to promote unity and celebrate diversity.
Her words:
“My goal is obviously to win the crown.”
“As someone who has faced adversity, I want to use my story to bring people together. We should value diversity and celebrate our differences—it’s the key to building a stronger community where everyone is recognised and appreciated.”
Nigerians couldn’t hold their nerves and reacted massively via all the social media platforms.
