Netflix on Wednesday announced an increase in subscription packages currently running in Nigeria, a second increase in 2024.
Since its initial increase in April, the price has increased from N5,000 per month to a 40% increase of N7,000 for its premium package.
In a 37.5% increment, the company explained that the standard plan, which initially cost N4,000, will now cost subscribers N5,500, a plan which is dominant among Nigerian subscribers.
Subscribers who use the basic package will now pay N3500 against N2900 before the new price takes the subscription to a 21% increase.
Explaining the price increase, the company noted that as it expands, the new price will aid it in ramping up its growth and help the expansion of the company.
The recent price hike marks the second time the company has initiated such a decision in the West African nation in less than four months.
