Troops of the Nigerian Army currently operating in Kaduna state have announced the killing of two terrorists and the recovery of different dangerous weapons during an operation conducted recently in the state.
The Army announced the success on its X handle on Monday, stating that the operation started with an ambush that resulted in a fierce gun battle in the bandits’ hideout. According to the army, the operation took place on the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis of the state.
The statement noted that the Army has continued to show its willingness to dismantle all the terrorists in carrying out different risky operations in the country. The statement explained that the army is committed to the destruction of various theatres of operations which will deliver a blow to the operations of the criminals.
The statement confirmed the troops in its latest operation successfully erased and destabilized terrorists trying to escape military action, aborting their assignment and setting them on the run.
In the statement, it was noted that the troops acted on credible intelligence and deployed a team to Kwaga village of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where an ambush was laid against the terrorists who were escaping using the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis. The ambush, according to the army clash, led to an intense firefight that led to the killing of two bandits while others fled to unknown destinations.
Some of the items recovered in the operation were two AK-47 rifles, three rifle magazines, one Baofeng radio, and three motorcycles, which were thought to have been used in carrying out different operations by the army.
The army further disclosed that it remains committed to its mission of getting rid of all the activities of terrorists in the country in order to ensure the safety of the citizens.
The statement also disclosed that the army is currently in search of the individuals who were shot during the operation.
