The 16th and current Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has stated that he was ready mediate between the Federal Government and the Fulannis to stop the crisis the crisis that have been going on in different parts of the country and create a permanent solution to the problems.
The Emir spoke on Tuesday while receiving the leadership of the Fulani group Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria in his place in Kano State. Sanusi noted that it was important for the government to find a permanent solution to the country’s current problems.
While speaking further, he noted that the intervention could only be possible if the federal government was willing to support him in the mediation process because of the power to support a good strategy in the mediation with the people involved in the crisis.
He noted that the Fulani groups in the country have suffered lots of problems, such as heavy attacks, isolation, killing and destruction and the rustling of their cows. According to him, the sad incidents all took place in different parts of the country, and urgent attention was needed. He further criticised the members of the group who have, in the past, thrown the good names of the Fulani groups in the drain that have orchestrated the current problems.
The Emir noted that the time for attention between the parties to create a permanent solution was now. He explained that the interventions would take place in different areas where there were crises with farmers and where the members of the groups were suspected of being involved in different crimes.
He disclosed that he has volunteered himself to work with different individuals in finding a lasting solution to the problems witnessed by the different groups in the country with the Fulani groups, he noted that the suffering must stop at the moment.
Reacting, the leader of the group, Madibo Jada, explained that they had visited the Emir to further show their allegiance to the reinstated Emir as he begins his second return as the leader of the group, who got his first appointment by the Lamido of Adamawa.
He noted that the group strongly believes in intervening in the crises that have existed in the past years, noting that such intervention will help clean up the bad image of the group that has been seen in the past years in the country.
While speaking, the leader was also optimistic that the Emir would be mending the image of the Fulani group, which has been seen in a bad light across the country.
The leader noted that the group’s leaders had decided to visit the Emir only because of the massive population of its members, who are scattered across many bushes in different locations in the country. He noted that if only the youth wing of the organization visits the place, the population will be enormous.
