Some unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked and killed three students at the Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State. It was disclosed that the attack took place on Friday morning in the state.
According to reports, the school belongs to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, also known as the Shiia sect.
The source who confirmed the incident noted that the suspects had arrived at the school on motorcycles in their numbers, heavily armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles.
The Police in the state confirmed the incident but failed to ascertain the level of the incident.
The Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim, explained that the police had gotten a distress call from the residents that some criminals had gotten into the schools and taken the lives of three students in the school. He disclosed that one of the students in the school also got heavily injured and was rushed to the health facility and is receiving treatment.
The police disclosed that the teacher in the school was able to run away from the criminals but disclosed that there was no form of confrontation between them and Anybody who was a suspected criminal. The teacher expressed that he was surprised by the outcome.
The police PPRO disclosed that the investigation into the incident has started to investigate the cause of the attack, and the police have also explained that the command was looking for someone who was on the ground during the occurrence of the incident.
