A moving train in Lagos has caused a yet-to-be-identified young man’s death after he collided with the train in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

It was reported that the tragic incident took place on Monday at about 6 pm when the victim was walking along the rail track in the Cappa area of the state.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Nosa Okunbor, disclosed that the agency had found the victim dead on the track with serious degrees of injuries sustained from the collision.

The spokesperson added that the victim was confirmed dead, which was caused by the level of injuries sustained from the incident.

He explained that the agency’s men arrived at the scene after a distress call was placed to the office of LASEMA Response Base in Cappa at about 6 p.m. on Monday. He noted that the agency had deployed a response team to the area.

According to him, upon arrival, the adult who was walking on the track was found dead; the victim was reportedly hit by a train which was coming.

The statement further disclosed that the victim, after being hit by the train, died immediately from the injuries sustained from the accident.

He further noted that the dead body of the victim had been taken away from the track where the incident took place. According to him, the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit officials will take the corpse to the morgue, where it will be deposited.
