Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have announced the arrest of 27-year-old Imole Ajayi. The police noted that the suspect was arrested after being accused of armed robbery in the state; he was accused by the residents of Area 5, Iperin OPIC Estate, in the Agbara area of the state.
It was disclosed that the suspect was arrested by the police patrol team at about 8:30 pm on Thursday during a stop-and-search duty on Orita/Idi-Oke Road, Igbesa in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
He was suspected to be a member of the one-chance armed robbery gang who had been using motorcycles to look for individuals who had been stranded on the road and needed assistance.
The arrest was confirmed by the spokesperson of the command, Omolola Odutola, in a statement on Friday in the state. She explained that upon searching Ajayi’s bag, a single-barrel shotgun with three live cartridges was found on the suspect. Still, when interrogated, the suspect failed to provide a reasonable explanation as to where he got the weapon.

The statement disclosed that when the police saw the individual, he was suspected to be one of the individuals who had been carrying out the one-chance activity in the state, targeting stranded vehicles on the highway, targeting both commercial and private car owners in distress.
