The Bauch State Emirate Council has announced the withdrawal of the traditional title given to Shehu Buba, a senator representing the southern constituency of the state under the All Progressive Congress.

Before the withdrawal of the traditional title, the senator was accused of saying things against the governor and disrespecting his orders; it was believed that the actions of the emirate council were due to the party differences that existed between the two political elites.

The lawmaker in an outburst had criticised the policies of the state governor Bala Mohammed during the start of the camping of the APC in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The governor was elected under the PDP while the senator was voted under the APC; the differences continue to exist as the PDP leads in the state while the APC leads at the National level.

They stated that Governor Bala Mohamed has made the poverty index in the state worsen by the governor; he also called for proper accountability from all individuals handling the resources meant for the state. He went on to claim that the governor has failed to distribute palliatives to the residents of the states, which has made the rate of hunger worsen in the northern state.

In a reaction to the comments made by the governor against president Tinubu, the senator stated that the hardship being experienced by Nigerians was called the bad rule of the PDP.

The senator emphasised that the rate of hardship in the state was caused by the government of Bala Mohammed; he explained that the administration was being run by only one man. He noted the ministries in that state have remained dormant without any form of contribution to the government. According to him corruption has taken over the government

In reaction to the allegation, a letter sent to the senator signed by Nasiru Musa on behalf of the secretary of the council, noted that the sent had gone contrary to the conduct of the state noting.

He explained that the council meeting held on 14 August, chaired by His Excellency the Elemir of Bauchi, holistically reviewed his comments against the governor, and they were found to be against the tradition of the state.

The letter explained that for the reasons stated, the traditional title given to the senior as Mujaddadin Bauchi has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

The senator has not made further comments since the withdrawal of the traditional title.

Meanwhile, the governor of the state, Bala Mohammed, has declared his intentions to run for the 2027 president under the PDP; he declared his intention when flags were issued to the PDP flag bearers in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
