Russian President Vladimir Putin while speaking on Friday disclosed that the new newly developed ballistic missile fired into Ukraine earlier in the week was developed in a way that it can withstand any form of attack or interception. The new statement has come amid the new tension that has arisen from the fight between the two countries on Western countries.
Puttin who spoke through a televised address stated that there is no countermeasure to such a missile, he further noted that were now no means of intercepting the missile. He noted that the country will continue to test the new systems that have been built which he said was important in order to establish serial production.
Putin disclosed on Thursday that he had ordered a strike with the new intermediate-range ballistic missile in response to Ukraine’s use of long-range Western weapons to hit targets inside Russia for the first time.
With the use of the new weapons by the countries the United States and other allies of Ukraine from Europe have remained resolute stating that they will continue to stand by the country and defend Kyiv.
Meanwhile, new details were emerging about the heightening alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un issued his nuclear threat to his U.S.-backed southern neighbor and accused Washington of fueling tensions.
The latest round of saber rattling from Putin and Kim has come during a week in which the war in Ukraine passed 1,000 days and with Washington preparing for a change in leadership.
With the situation, Western officials and analysts have been asked to play down the efforts made by the country to intermediate Kyiv and other nations that have supported them. Still, Western officials and analysts have sought to play down what they said was an effort to intimidate Kyiv and its backers.
Speaking on the recent attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the use of the new weapon has shown a high level of escalation of the war. He noted that the country has held new meetings with its partners which will be a moment to discuss ways to counter any form of new threats, especially through the air.
He noted that on Thursday the Russian missile strike was a second major step toward escalation after the Kremlin deployed more than 10,000 North Korean troops.
According to the KCNA state news agency, on Friday, Kim warned that due to U.S. hostility, his region had never faced a greater risk of “the most destructive thermonuclear war.
It has been explained that the alliance that has existed between Kim and Puttin has been the reason for the decision of Washington and its allies to relax restrictions on Kyiv. And NATO, the Western military alliance bracing for a second Donald Trump presidency, said it would not stop that support in the face of Putin’s threats.
The spokesperson Farah Dakhlallah noted that the deployment of such capability will neither change the course of the conflict nor deter NATO allies from supporting Ukraine
according to a U.S. official, the Biden administration has told US officials and other allies that Russia was preparing to use the new weapons in conducting the attack.
The US official also stated that Russia may be seeking to use this capability to try to intimidate Ukraine and its supporters or generate attention in the information space, but it will not be a game changer in this conflict.
In the past days, it has been discussed that Ukraine had made use of long-range Western weapons to strike Russian soil followed by months of pleading during which it came under intensifying Russian attacks in the air and on the battlefield.
With the conflict putting more threats on the land and dangers seen on the land, the Ukrainian Parliament cancelled a session Friday and reduced staff presence because of the increased threat of a missile attack on the area housing government buildings, the country’s public broadcaster said.
However, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Beluosov stated that his forces had sped up their advance and disrupted the Ukrainian military’s plans for the upcoming year.
It has been noted that on a visit to a command post of the country’s north group of forces, the group targeted by a Ukrainian strike in the Kursk border region that used British Storm Shadow long-range missiles Beluosov said that Ukraine’s best units were ground down here and that “the advancement [of the Russian Armed Forces] has accelerated.
The Russian Defense Ministry who made the comments on Friday failed to make public the area that was visited by the forces.
Andrey Baklitskiy, a senior researcher at the Geneva-based United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, was unconvinced by escalating Russian threats. He noted Russia has felt the need to respond to Ukraine’s crossing its red lines, He noted that it was unclear what this is adding to Russian capabilities.
Baklitskiy stated that with the sophistication the new missile has been made to have multiple warheads but it was unclear how precise they were.
The U.S. said the Oreshnik or Hazel tree was a new, experimental type of missile based on the design of the existing RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile. In an earlier comment from Kyiv, it was claimed that Russia had fired an ICBM.
It was explained that the weapon which was used was likely to be expensive which would prevent them from using it at every instance.
While Baklitsky revealed that the attack still had its uses as a thinly veiled danger that it could one day unleash a nuclear payload, he caveated that by pointing to signs that the Kremlin was still keen to evade significant escalation Russia notified U.S. officials about the attack using nuclear risk reduction communication channels.
“He noted that the government was responding with something that had not been used he noted that it’s not escalatory in the sense of things getting out of hand.
