Aston Villa and France forward Moussa Diaby have successfully completed a transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad in a transfer that has cost £50m,
Confirming the switch on his social media handles the forward offered emotional messages to the Aston Villa board acknowledging their effort in the last year.
Diaby wh thanked his teammates and the entire club posted on his social media pages “Villans, thank you for everything. It’s time to say goodbye, I’d like to thank the club, the team members, the staff and everyone working at Aston Villa.
He reflected on the season he has had thanking the teams for striving for success which has gained them a Champions League Football spot “I’ve always given my best to help the club and the team, we’ve had some great moments that will stay in my memory. We’ve had a fantastic season, with moments of joy and happiness.
“Together, we’ve achieved our objectives. The club will be playing in the Champions League next year and I wish them success. It’s a season I will remember forever. Villans, I won’t forget you.” He said.
A short confirmation on the club’s website stated that “Aston Villa can confirm that Moussa Diaby has joined Al Ittihad. The winger moves to Saudi Arabia after just one season at Villa Park, having signed for the club from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
“He made 54 appearances in claret and blue across all competitions in 2023/24, registering 10 goals and nine assists, helping the club qualify for the Champions League”.
The French Striker signed by Aston Villa in the 20232024 Transfer Window has been regarded as the club record signing after making it to the team for over £50m.
During his one-year spell at the club, Diaby made thirty-eight premier league appearances scoring six goals and eight assists across. a debut season that was regarded as a solid one.
Moving to Al Ittihad, have gained Aston Villa £50m after the 25-year-old was lured away from Villa Park to the Middle East.
In a move to replace the French Striker, Aston Villa has agreed a deal to sign re-sign former academy star Jaden Philogene from Hull City.
