Omari Kellyman, who is an 18-year-old youth midfielder from Aston Villa, has signed for Chelsea in a deal that could value up to £19 million, the team said on Saturday. Since entering Birmingham’s junior program in 2022, Kellyman has made six appearances for Villa’s first squad. He formerly played at Derby County. He is an England young representative as well.
“It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join… I want to be successful in the Chelsea shirt, win games, and hopefully lift trophies.
Hopefully, I can become one of the faces on the side of the stadium. I want to become a big player for this club,” he said.
In August 2023, the adolescent player made his professional debut for Villa, displaying his skill in the team’s 3-0 Europa Conference League triumph over Hibernian. With the transfer of Dutch defender Ian Maatsen from Stamford Bridge to Villa Park on Friday for an alleged fee of £37.5 million, Chelsea has now signed two contracts with Villa this week.
